About Me

Allergies: The Unbearable Sniffing, Sneezing and Drainage

My name is Marilyn Baker, and I have horrible allergies. I’m 42 years old and have been suffering from allergies since I was a child. I have seasonal and environmental allergies. Allergies plague me year round. When I was young, my parents even moved to a dryer area in the hope of helping me. Over the past eight years, I have done extensive research both through doctors and online. I have managed to come up with some combinations that have helped me a great deal. My allergies aren’t gone, but they have become manageable. I do have to have allergy shots, but I also use some natural remedies. I am happy to be able to share my findings with you here on my blog. I hope you can find some of this of value.

Putting Off Getting Eyeglasses? 4 Ways Doing So Could Be Interfering With Your Life

by Clifton Davidson

If you've been putting off going to the optometrist because you don't want to wear glasses, you should know that you might be putting your eyes in danger. You might also be making things harder on yourself than you need to. Here are just a few of the ways that improper vision could be interfering with your life.

While You're Driving

You might think that your vision isn't interfering with your driving, but you might be mistaken. This is particularly true if you drive at night. Those bright halo rings around the street lights could be a sign of cataracts. If you ignore those halo lights long enough, you might find all the lights start blurring at night.

Poor vision can also cause you problems at your next DMV appointment, especially if it's time for a vision test for your license renewal. If you fail your vision exam, you will not be allowed to get your license renewed until you can show proof that your vision has been corrected.

In The Store

Do you have to get up close to the stickers before you can tell what you're looking at in the store? You may be nearsighted. If you can't see the price on the labels, or you need to have someone read them for you, it's time to go see the optometrist.

If you or a family member suffer from food allergies, it's particularly important that you be able to read the labels on the food you're purchasing. You may be doing more than damaging your eyes, you may be putting your health at risk by letting your vision go.

During Fun Time With Your Kids

If you're avoiding game time with your kids because you can't read the instructions, or you can't focus on the game board, it's time to go get your vision checked. You may be letting life pass you by if you put off seeing your optometrist.

Sidelined By Frequent Headaches

Improper vision can lead to headaches. If you're being sidelined by headaches more than a few times a month, you need to see your eye doctor, especially if your medical doctor has determined that your health is good. Vision headaches can be alleviated once you have your vision corrected with the proper eyeglasses.

Don't let poor vision keep you from enjoying life. If you're seeing halos at night while you're driving, or you're suffering from frequent headaches, you need to schedule an appointment with your optometrist. If you're looking for fashionable glasses, visit Cohen's Fashion Optical.
